Over the Road Pay

OTR drivers can enjoy no-touch freight. You’ll average 2,500+ miles per week and are paid for loaded and empty miles. Pay is as follows:

  • $0.55 – $0.65 CPM starting
  • $0.64 CPM is the fleet average
  • $0.78 CPM is the top pay

Truck Requirements

  • The truck must not be taller than 13’-6”
  • 5th wheel must not exceed 47.5” in height
  • Ability to haul shipments of 46,000 pounds
  • Ability to haul a 53’ trailer
  • The tractor must be 5 years old or newer

Driver Requirements

In order to drive for Empire Express as an owner operator, all drivers must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Have at least 6 months of verifiable over-the-road experience
  • Hold a valid Class A CDL
  • Must be able to pass the DOT physical exam
  • Must live within the hiring area
  • Must not have more than three moving violations or more than six points on your MVR within the last three years
  • No DUI/DWI or reckless driving violations within the last five years
  • No history of drug or alcohol abuse
  • No more than 2 non-chargeable accidents or one chargeable accident within the last three years
  • Felonies must be at least seven years old
