KAG Driver Jobs
KAG drivers are specially trained, and the company has ample employment opportunities. They have more than 300 locations nationwide, so you’re sure to find a job opening near you.
The company requires that drivers have:
- A valid CDL
- 1-2 years of recent and verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- A safe driving record
- The ability to obtain their required endorsements
As part of the application process, you will be asked for consent to be tested for drug or alcohol use. And like any other trucking company, they’ll also ask for your permission to conduct a background check.
Although the company only requires 1-2 years of recent tractor-trailer experience, recruiters usually prefer drivers to have 10 years of continuous work history (as a whole). Applicants must be at least 23 years of age.
KAG does not hire drivers fresh out of trucking school, although they do provide flexibility for military veterans who drove trucks while serving.
Regardless of experience level, KAG requires all recently-hired drivers to go through a training program. The company has fully-equipped training centers in Baytown, Texas and Joliet, Illinois. Training may also be performed at local KAG terminals.
The program lasts about three weeks and includes orientation. New drivers must also go through the Smith System Defense Driving course.
Terminal managers and trainers conduct mandated reviews of new hires at 30-day, 90-day and 180-day intervals.
Drivers can choose between local and over-the-road positions.
Kenan Driver Pay and Benefits
KAG is the largest transport service company in North America, so they have ample employment opportunities. But what about their pay rates?
Drivers will be happy to know that KAG raised their driver pay significantly starting in 2018. The majority of their customers had also agreed to pay higher rates in order to support higher driver wages. The move was part of a bigger effort to help combat the driver shortage.
So, how much do they pay exactly?
That information isn’t easy to find.
