At Road Scholar Transport, local driver pay comes out to about $26 per hour. Regional drivers earn about $0.60 per mile. Over time is available, and the company offers comprehensive healthcare benefits.

Road Scholar doesn’t provide too much information about their driver requirements or benefits, but they are looking for professionals. Drivers will also be required to wear uniforms.

In a recent blog post, the company outlined some changes that current and future employees will appreciate.

The primary benefit is a pay increase. Road Scholar says that its minimum driver pay now guarantees $1,050-$1,350 per week.

Road Scholar understands the importance of work/life balance, which is why local drivers are now home every day and regional drivers are home every weekend.

Both of these changes are great for drivers.

Looking at job listings, we can see that the company offers:

  • Healthcare benefits
  • Vacation after six months
  • TVs in trucks (regional drivers only)
  • Overtime available
  • Part-time positions available
  • Access Perks family discount program
  • Modern air ride equipment
  • Flexible dispatch

When we look at salary information on available from 3rd-party sites, we can see that drivers earn:

  • $65,393 per year on average

This figure is about on par with what other trucking companies pay their drivers in the North Atlantic and slightly above the national average. There are opportunities to earn more as you gain experience. Drivers love the family environment, and they praise the benefits offered.

Local drivers get to enjoy daily home time, and even regional drivers get a lot of time at home with their families. Drivers will have to adhere to the company’s strict policies and wear a uniform, but they enjoy consistent work, excellent pay and great benefits.
