Lily Transport Corp has a long history, dating back to 1943. John Simourian is the founder of the company, and when a back injury kept him from enlisting, he was determined to do his part to help the military.
Since he couldn’t enlist, he filled a void where he drove a truck because the Charlestown Navy Yard needed another truck for transport.
John went on to enlist his friends and family who weren’t able to join the military for various reasons into driving trucks with him.
Lily was officially founded in 1958 as a leasing company and then became a division of the Lincoln Foods hauling company.
